EXPLOSION AT WAIHI.
MINER SERIOUSLY INJURED. I (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. A miner named Albert H. Payne, was injured last night in the Waihi mine by an explosion of a hole before he could get clear. He was peppered about the upper part of his body and face by flying quartz. It is feared that one eye has been permanently injured and that its sight may not be saved. |
