STILL THEY GO.
THE MATAKANA SAILS. OTHERS PREPARING TO LEAVE. PORT CLEAR BY MONDAY. Although the overseas seamen on strike iv Auckland are not inclined to believe that the strike has been called off, it is nevertheless certain that, whether they refuse duty or not, the ships of which they are members of "the crews are sailing, and that the strike in New Zealand is beaten. To-day the Matakana sailed for Southern porta to continue the discharge of her cargo, and the Waimana would also have sailed but for the bursting of a filling pipe, which, means that she will be delayed a day or two while repairs are being effected. The Athenic and Zinal are to be got ready to sail early, and the Tainui, the only other remaining vessel affected by the strike, came out of dock yesterday, and will probably berth to-morrow morning to load produce for England. By next week all the vessels which liave been held up at Auckland by the strike should have sailed. The Penmorvah, which is on British articles, arrived last evening from Nauru Island. When at Auckland in the earlystages of the strike her crew refused to come out and join the strikers.
