ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN DISPUTE. POST OFFICE CONTROL. ■ ! LONDON, October 14. J Mr. G. M. Allard made a statement in the Press regarding the Anglo-Australian wireless position. "If any wireless company in any British Dominion, wishes to establish commercial service competition cables between Britain and the Dominions, it cannot enjoy the same freedom given to all cable companies and all foreign wireless companies to make its own business arrangements with 1 Ir'tain. Any Dominion company was compelled either to do its business through a station operated by the British Post o_sc or to abandon tha business altogether. The Australian company feels that it will be severely handicapped by this. "The competition would •be unfair unless the Australian company were given the same freedom as foreign competitors to make its business arrangements at this end instead of being compelled to work through the British Post Office, over which it has no control. The company with the full support of the Commonwealth was asking the right to conduct its business with the same freedom as cable companies and foreign wireless companies."—(A. and N.Z.)
