A TRAMPEK'S PARADISE.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—Having read the very interest-, ing letter by "Ranger" under this head- j ing in your Saturday's issue, I should like to draw his attention to the mag- | nificent illustrated lecture on "The Wai-1 takere Eanges and the West Coast,"; recently delivered to crowded audiences at the Concert Chamber and the Prin- ; cess Theatre. "Ranger's" remarks re- j garding these glorious sunset hills have been, in almost identical language, pro- • nounccd from the platforms at the lee- ■ ture mentioned. In spite of the two thousand and more who have attended to see the most artistic and realistic j set of slides ever shown in Auckland, j which represent most fully the delight" and charm of this Nature's Paradise which lies unspoilt so near to the city, i there are yet a great many Aucklanders who have "missed the opportunity. Being another tramper who revels in the region where one may trek onwards and upwards for miles along sweet, bushscented and inspiring highways, I en- : dorse the opinion that mare publicity should be given to the Ranges, and, in i my humble opinion, such could not be better done than in a repetition of the lecture aforesaid. In conclusion I should , like to thank you for the appreciative interest your paper has always shown in; publishing letters and articles regarding the Waitakeres, and their possibilities as a future asset and playground for tired city dwellers.—l am, etc., ANOTHER TRAMPER. "A Nature Lover" writes in a similar strain.
