A BISHOP'S BELIEFS.
DEPOSED FROM CHURCH. NEW ORLEANS, October 13Bishop William Montgomery Brown, who has been three times convicted of heresy for refusal to accept the doctrine of the immaculate conception, to believe the literal interpretation of the biblical account of the creation, and fop recent alleged Communistic utterances and writings, has been deposed from the ministry of the Protestant Episcopal Church. Bishop Ethelbert Talbot read the sentence: "I declare you deposed from the saojred ministry." The ex-bishop afterwards announced that, because he considered his conviction was illegal, he wpuld not heed the sentence, but -would continue to administer and Teceive communion and perform the duties of a bishop. Unon his remiest, Jud-re Burns ordered the House of Bishops, which is sitting as part of the general convention here, to appear before the Federal Court on Wednesdar to show cause why the sentence should be imposed.— (A. and N.Z.)
