WELCOMED HOME.
MR. E. H. DAVIS HONOURED.
Mr. Ernest H. Davis who returned from a two years' tour of the United Kingdom and the Continent on Sunday was welcomed home by his friends at a function at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon.
Mr. J. Rowe, who presided, extended a hearty greeting to Mr. Davis from his wide circle of business and social friends, and referred to his own personal association with the family for nearly fifty years. *
Other speakers referred to their associations . with the family, and lattery with Mr. Davis, and emphasised the fine characteristics which stood out above everything else. - Mr. Davis, in, acknowledging the welcome, said it made his homecoming a great pleasure, and he was deeply sensitive to the many fine expressions of his and his family's worth. Particularly did he appreciate the references to his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Moss Davis.
