REPAYING A LOAN.
ELECTRICITY FOJI ONEHUSTGA-
When it was proposed r * eetablitih an Eden-Manukau Electric Power Board about four year* ago, the Onehunga Borough Council contributed the Bum of £427 3/7 towards the preliminary expenses, with the understanding that the amount would be refunded later on. After proceedings in this direction had reached a certain stage further action was found unnecessary as the Auckland Electric Ppwer Board toojc over the business, together with the liabilities to the various local bodies with an undertaking to reimburse them out pf loan money, With regard to the account from Onehunga, the Auckland Electric Power Board has advised the council that the audit office has certified all the items therein for repayment with the exception of the ' case of two payments totalling £35 made by the council to Mr. J. Park, when he was Mayor of the borough. These amounts are' not supported by any detailed vouchers, only the receipts are given. Jja'st night the council was asked if it could supply any details at all to support these two payments. So soon as the Auckland Electric Power Board is" able to place before the auditor some satisfactory evidence concerning these payments, a refund of the total amount of £427 3/7 will be made to the council. It was decided to ask Mr. Park to furnish the council with the necessary details of his charges totalling £35.
