YOUTHFUL "NURMIS." « SCHOOL ROAD RAC.ES. HAMILTON MARIST BOYS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The pupils of the Marist Brothers' School, Hamilton, held their annual road races yes J terday. -The e.ntries were large, totalling :io.'ih. the senior event for "boys over 13, and .70-in-the junior contest, and considerable interest • was ' evinced in . the afternoon's sport. , •; ■ ' ;- The young competitors in both events were evidently .in 'good training, for the'majority ran the full distance out In good time, and without any evidence of distress. The distance of the senior race was a little over three miles, and of the junior event approximately two miles. The two races resulted as follows: — Juniors. —F. Cassidy (lmin.), 1; ,T. Roach (lmin.), 2; 3. Salisbury (scr) 3. The time occupied by the winner, who won comfortably, was 1-lmins. usee, Salisbury securing fastest time, 14min. Seniors. —F. Stewart 1; L. Chitty (45secs.), 2; L. Clarkin (ljmins.), 3. Stewart won easily in Brains. 25secs., f.'hitty's time, 19mins. 20secs., being the fastest of the race.
