• ■' v BY ARCTIC-BOUND SHIP.I ———-. i j BOATLOADS OP SAILORS. j PICKED UP IN HEAVY GALE, (Bj- Cable.—Press Association.—Copj-rignt). — < • J (Received 2 p.m.) j WASHINGTON, September 10. McMillan's ship the Bowdoin reached Godthaab, Greenland, after weathering a strong Arctic gale, and rescuing a crew of Danish Navy sailors just before their boats sank. The Peary had already arrived at Godthaab. Mr. McMillan's report to the National Geographical Society stated that a 60----mile gale struck the ship, shortly after which men's screams were heard "almost alongside. Investigation showed a small power boat of the ship Island Taulfc full of Danish sailors towing a dory loaded with another group of sailors struggling helplessly against the seas. The Bowdoin threw a line overboard and took the sailors aboard, whereupon the dory and nower boat capsized.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
