ONE TREE HILL ROAD HOARD.
At last evening's meeting of the One Tree Hill Road Board, Mr. R. G. Clark presided,- and there were also present: Messrs. Rbwe, Mcintosh, Clayton and Purchas. ....-.'
In view of a communication from the Penrose Ratepayers' Association, referring to the bad condition of Station. Mount Smart and O'Rorke Roads, the engineer was asked to report on- them.
A letter was received from- the Medical Officer of Health, who suggested that the board should suj%>ly drainage facilities through the Onehunga sewer to an area on the north side of Campbell Road.—The board decided to reply that, it could not supply drainage at present, at the same time suggesting that' the area might be placed under the jurisdiction of the Onehunga Borough Council. On Monday a conference is to be held to discuss the question of Installing a common refuse destructor for the combined districts of Onehunga, Mount Roskill, Ellerslte and One Tree Hill. Messrs. Clayton and Purchas were appointed to represent the board at the conference.
Mr. W. W. • Baker's ' appointment as valuer of the district was confirmed. That £9 10/6 had been received for the Massey Memorial Fund was reported by the clerk.
The board passed a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs. G. Balldon.
A form of agreement between the local bodies who join the proposed Auckland Provincial Water Board was sent for signature. The board decided to sign the agreement if its solicitors advised that there would be no liability on One Tree Hill to ioin the proposed water board.
