Alter a comparatively dry week, heavy rain, started early This morning, with, every prospect of continuance, accompanied by humid conditions, which will promote early spring growths. While beneficial from an agricultural point of view, to-day's heavy rain is not conducive to the enjoyment of a large number of visitors to witness the Kaipara v. Whangarei football match for the Harding Challenge Shield, which was wrested from Northern Wairoa last Saturday. The game will he played under the worst possible conditions.
