A GROWING SCHOOL.
ADDITIONAL ROOMS AT i VAUXHAIA. OPENED THIS AFTERNOON. The opening of the new classrooms at the Vauxhall School took place this afternoon. There was a large attendance of scholars and parents, members of the Education Board, and the school committee. The school buildings were tastefully and appropriately decorated for the function. The ceremony, was performed by Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the Auckland Education .Board. The two additional classrooms comprise a cloakroom for the children and a temporary room for the teachers. The present roll number of the school is 300. pupils, and with the additional rooms provision is made for 325 pupils. The work has been in hand for some months, practically everything having been done by the board's workmen. The Government made a grant of £3096 for the work. A bazaar will be held this evening, and will be followed by a. dance, the proceeds to provide general equipment for the school. — a
