TERRITORIAL CLOTHING.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—Judging by the letter of "Territorial" in your issue*of the Bth met., commenting on territorial clothing as issued to members of infantry units, the average person would think that the infantry of the territorial force, because they are not supplied with riding breeches, would not be able to stand a march on account of core muscles, etc. As an ex-sergeant-major of infantry, I say that is not so. If slacks and puttees nre put on the regulation way very little discomfort will be caused on the march. If "Territorial" suffers from sore muscles, etc., my advice to him is to take a little more physical exercise, instead of blaming the clothing issued, and shielding himself behind the regulation, which forbids officers to reply to euch as he.—l am, etc., EX-TERRITORIAL.
