THE CARLTON CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. Then* was a largo attendance at flip thirty-second anmi.il meeting of the Carlton Bowling Cluh held in the pavilion on Thursday, May 2R. the president Mr. .1. M. Thomson, presiding. The annual report showed the club had again marl i> a profit of several hundred pounds, which they had utilised in improving their property. The Cnrlton greens had now regained their old-time condition, and the winter green was playing exceptionally well. The first competition for the handsome shield presented by Mr. J. M. Thomson for competition between the Wellington and Carlton Clubs had taken place on the Carlton Green, and both matches had been won by the Cnrlton Club. In the Auckland Centre's pennait competition the cluh. although havlnc to put in eighteen teams, had come third in the competition. In outside competitions Messrs N. Edmonds. H. Coitman. 11. WiFhart and H. Ollles won the St. Heller's Bay tournament on the 2!Uh January. A - Remuera tournament held during February was won by Messrs. G. Lelteh, M. Gordon. G Wrightson and C. Warren. Messrs Kil~our and Carey were members of the winning team at the Rotoru.i tournament, while j Messrs. Clarkson. Coutts, BftM and Trusoott were runners-up at the Tnuranan tournament. At the Auckland Centre's Xmas tournament Messrs. Mitchell. Dillicar Martin and Hosklnc were rumnrs-un in the Xmns fours, while Messrs. Wlsh.irt Turkman.
