DAVIS CUP TEAMS. nrPORTANT NOTICES OF MOTION. CBj Telegraph. -Owa Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. In connection with the meeting of the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association notice has been given of the following motions: Professor F. P. \Yil 6on will move: "That in order to secure to the Now Zealand Lawn Tennis' Association a sufficient revenue to provide for NewZealand lawn tennis teams' visits to Australia and for financing Davis Chip challenges, a referendum of the players of New Zealand be taken on the question of a levy of one shilling per head; and that the cordial co-operation of affiliated associations be invited." Mr. X. A. Fodcn (Marlborough) will move: — "(a) That it be a. recommendation to the management committee that in the selection of the New Zealand Davis Cup team, unless the undoubted superiority of an older player warrants overwisc, preference be given to the promising younger players who will be also available for representation within the next decade. "(b) That the management committee be instructed to write direct to the New Zealand representatives of the firms of Ayres, Ltd., Shazcngers, Ltd., Spalding, Ltd., and any other representatives of well-known tennis ball manufacturers to ascertain the lowest quotation for quantities to be supplied to the New Zealand rouniil for distribution to the constituent associations. "(c) That, in order to enable players to attain to more truly representative form tlic New Zealand championship meeting be held not earlier than the srrond iveek in February of eauh year."
