STILL RAGING.
MAORI'S BOUGH TRIP. DELUGE OF RAIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The storm which set in yesterday is still raging, although the wind has ! abated slightly. The ferry steamer, Maori, encountered huge seas south of ! Cape Campbell, and some of her four hundred passengers had a bad time. Although the vessel was slowed down,' she arrived at 9.30 a.m. The storm damage includes a fall of 200 tons of clay on the Lyttelton-Sumner road. Christchurch escaped heavy damage. Ferry Road, near Manning's brewery, has water a foot deep over the footpath. Railway communication with Little River is now cut off by floods. The rainfall for 24 hours ending 9.30 a.m. was 4.711, a record for Canterbury.
