EASTER ATTRACTIONS.
RACES AND SPORTS. WHERE THE PUBLIC WILT, GO. The usual very wide choice of amusements for the Easter holidays is offered the Auckland public this year. On Good Friday the attractions for those who June not gone abroad by the special train and boat services which are announced for Thursday, consist chiefly of trips to the various beach resorts of the harbour and gulf, and of cricket matches which will be held in the Domain under the auspices of the Suburban Association. The Auckland representative cricket team will have a number of friends travelling with it on a trip, starting on Thursday evening's South express, and continuing by motor from Te Kuiti to New Plymouth, where the Taranaki representative team will be played.
On .Saturday the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at the Ellerslie course will be opened, and special tram', train and bus services are arranged therefor. This meeting will be resumed on Monday.
Other sports fixtures for Saturday include cricket matches on the Domain, the opening of the Auckland provincial golf championship at Middlemore links, and a number of bowling tourneys, all of which will be continued on Monday.
In addition, special ferry, launch and steamer services are announced for the week-end to provide harbour and seaside excursions of varying distances suitable to the state of the weather and the inclination of city folks. On Saturday and Monday special holiday programmes are announced by the picture bhow proprietors, Fuller's, 'several theatrical allows and the dancing cabarets.
Railway Arrangements. Special train arrangements have been made by the Railway Department to cope with the Easter traffic. In order to afford business people an opportunity to travel on Thursday, evening trains leave Auckland for Helensville ti.3o p.m. and Auckland for Rotorua 10.20 p.m. A restricted sen-ice, including usual express trains, will be run on Good Triday. In connection "with Auckland races, frequent service will be run between Auckland and tlis racecourse on Saturday and Monday.
