Tn connection with the waterfront dispute, a meeting of the local disputes committee was called for this afternoon, but the men's representatives declined to sit on the committee, and no meeting could be held. Mr. J. Flood, the watersiders' secretary, subsequently said that, as the employers had refused to meet on the national disputes committee at Wellington to deal with several matters in dispute, it had been decided that the men's representatives would not act on local committees until such time as the national disputes committee met.
