The directors' report for presentation at the thirteenth ordinary general meeting of shareholders, to be held on March 20, is as follows , :— I "The Board of Directors submit to the' shareholders the audited balance sheet and statement of profit und loss for the year ending December 31, 1024. The balance of pi-oiit and loss account brought forward, ns stated in last report, is £29,055 4/10. Tho net profit on the year's trading amounts to £133,!J54 17/0. In September. 1924, an interim dividend was paid for the hulf-yeiu ending June 30. 1024, of 3 per cent on the preference capital, and S3 per cent with a bonus of 1 per cent on the ordinary capital, which* absorbed £00,000. A dividend hns now been declared of 3 per cent on the preference capital, and 5 per cent with a bonus of 1J per cent on the ordinary cupital. this will absorb a further sum of £03,730. Total dividends and bonuses as above appropriated from the profits of the year £123.700. Transferred to reserve fund. £10,000. I>avinß a balance to carry forward of £29,200 2/8. The reserve fund hns bepn increased to £320.000 by the addition of the amount of £10,000 shown above. A new oarco steamer of 0500 tons deadweight, built to tho company's order hv (he Blyth Shipbuilding Co.. Ltd.'. will be doliverod this month. During November,' 1024, traffic was seriously interfered with by an overtime strike of wharf labourers Mr. John Langley WVbb rotires from the board at this nirptinj;, nnd offers himself for re-election. Mr. A. R. Hnrwnod offers himself for re-election as auditor."
