MAN KILLED ON LINE.

STRUCK BY SPECIAL TRAIN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. The mutilated body of a man aged between 55 and 60 years was found on the railway line near 'Wharepoa early this morning by a surfaceman who was proceeding to work. Papers found on the body indicate that the man was John Stewart Patty, a widower. It is surmised he was waiting for the train at Wharepoa station, and may have fallen asleep sitting on the edge of the platform, being then caught by the special train and killed outright. The inquest is to be held this afternoon.
