SCHOOL REPRESENTATION.
On the matter of the election of edu« cation boards the Auckland Board, ori -* being asked by the Education Boards* 1 Association for an opinion, decided to 1 intimate that it was still of the opinion expressed in 1923. This was that it felt the Auckland suburban area should bo extinguished in favour of a metropolitan area having a radius of 20 miles from the Auckland Post Office, represented by six members; that the Hamilton urban 1 area be extinguished, and that four f rural wards be created instead of three,; i each being represented by two members, ; This was considered likely to have mora a permanent representation, and to reduca r the difference between the rural anil I town areas. The board submitted that a a representation of fourteen members . was not disproportionate, having in a mind tho size of the district and tho c, increase in school population since 1916 l from 42,000 to 00,000. ,
