The wholesale price of flour in Sydney has been increased by 5/ to £16 10/ per ton.—(A. and N.Z. Cablo)
SLIPPED ON CONCRETE.
HORSES OUT OF CONTROL.
DRIVER THROWN AND INJURED.
Through losing control of .a tyro-horse team in O'Conriell "Street about, 7..15 this morning, William George Walker (20), a married man employed by Messrs. R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., .was thrown from an ice wagon and painfully injured. Walker was driving down O'Connell Street when one of the horses slipped and stumbled. The driver was unable to pull the horses together again before they swung the ice wagon up against a telephone post and he was landed in the roadway. A hospital ambulance was immediately summoned and he was admitted to the institution shortly afterwards; suffering from scalp wounds. Walker resides at 131, Crummer Road, Grey Lynn.
The horses, frightened by the accident, and being out of control through the loss of the driver, continued on into Shortland Street and across Queen. Street One of them attempted to. turn down Queen Street, but failing to carry the other with it they both dragged the driverless wagon into Swanson Street, where they pulled up on the hill.
