COUNT WHO MUST NOT TALK.
U.S. SILENCE ORDER. NEW YORK, February 19. The friends of Count Michael Karolyi, the former President of Hungary, charge the American State Department with having violated the rights of free speech by forbidding him to write or speak on politics while in the United States. <" ount Karolyi came to New York to visit his sick wife, his passport bein? granted only on the pledge of silence. Since his arrival his friends say he has been subjected to bitter attacks 'by Hungarian newspapers here, which he has been compelled to leave unanswered. Count Karolyi has steadfastly kept his promise, refusing even to see reporters. His representative says the State Department persists in refusine to relense him from his niedce, despite the fact that they consHpr the attacks against him to be libellous.
