LURE OF THE CITY.

YOUNG MEN DESE3.TING FARMS LONDON, February 23. Lord Bledisloe, who ie president of a number of agricultural societies, finds that in England, as in Australia, too many young men from the country are being lured to the city by higher wages and attractive conditions. He urges the introduction of the profitsharing system on farms, and the development of the social side of rural life to keep men on the land. The agricultural correspondent of "The Westminster Gazette" says farmers consider the payment of higher wages to be impossible, though the introduction oi women employees in the dairies assists the situation.
