DELAY EC EXTENSION.

KAITAIA, this day.
There was a large attendance at a public meeting held to discuss the extension of the railway from OkaihaTj to Kaitaia- Mr. T. H. Kenny was chairman. Strong protests were made against the cessation of work at Okaihaa and delay in authorising continuation of tue line to Kaitaia and Awanui North. The following resolution was carried -mjanimously: "That this meeting, representative of Mangonui and Hokianga counties and Kaitaia town, is of opinion that continuation of the railway northward from Okaihau to Awanui is & matter of urgent necessity, and requests the Minister to have the line authorised during the coming session."
