GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.

The fortnightly meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board was held on Monday evening, those present being Mr. .T. M. Wept (chairman), and Messrs. Hayes, Errington. Martin, Pugh, Lane and Bourne.

Main Concrete Road.—A communication from the Auckland City Council was received advising that the -work of concreting the Great North Road would commence on Monday, March 2, in Avondale, and it was anticipated that work on the Glen Eden section of the road would be commenced about September 1 next. Certain formalities were required to be carried out in the meantime. It was decided to instruct the board's solicitors to prepare the necessary debentures, etc. Stock Road.—A petition signed by Croyden Koad residents protesteel against the recent decision including Croyden Road in the new stock route through the district, and as the reasons given for the objection appeared to the board to be justified, it was decided to take steps to amend the stock route, a notf?e of motion to amend the last resolution being given. No. 2 By-laws.:—The new by-laws as finally revised by the board's solicitors were approved of by the board. Delegates to Conference.—ln regard to the conference arranged between the Glen Eden and New Lynn Town Boards' representatives to consider the possibility of cooperation to the mutual advantage of the ratepayers of both districts, Messrs. West, Errington and Hayes were appointed dolegates to represent Glen Eden.

Scoria Supplies.—The Works Committee reported that deliveries of scoria under the new arrangement made had commenced, resulting in Clayburn Road (the first to be supplied) being metalled within a few days, the quality of metal supplied being satisfactory.

Brandon Road.—The question of finding the extra filling material for this road iras left in the hands of the chairman of the Works Committee.

Footpaths.—The Works Committee was empowered to order the necessary scoria for the Brandon Koad and West Coast Road footpaths.

Subdivisions.—Three subdivisions on Laurie's Estate were passed by the board. Building Permits.—Two further building permits were issued by the board, and one refused, the application not being accompanied by the necessary plans. The clerk was instructed to see that no permit is Issued in any case where a building ie commenced prior to the application for a permit. In the case of any breach the board intend to prosecute. Also as the drainage by-laws are being evaded in the case of several new buildings, the sanitary inspector is to be requested to examine and report on all new buildings erected during the past twelve months.
