FIRE BANDITS.

TEXAS TOWNS BURNT AND PLUNDERED. DALLAS (Texas), December 31. Organised bandits are engaged in burning eastern Texas towns after looting them. Four towns have suffered in the past fortnight, fires causing serious damage. The town of Chireno was the latest scene of operations. The robbers set fire to the store and the adjoining buildings, after having stolen valuables. X'ine buildings were destroyed at Valley View, the first town visited. In addition to 150,000 dollars (£30,000) fire damage, 105,000 dollars (£33,000) cash and securities was taken from the two banks.
