RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION. MEETING AT PENROSE. The Auckland Rifle Association will hold its fifty-first annual prize meeting at Penrose on Thursday and Friday. The programme includes ten matches, and trophies and prize money ta the value of about £200 will be offered. The matches are as follows: —"The Citizens'," ten shots at 200 yards; "The President's," ten shots at 300 yards: "The Service*' (compulsory), deliberate and snapshooting; "The Auckland," ten shots at 500 yards; '•The Avondale," ten shots at 600 yards; "The Onehunga," ten shots at 800 yards: 'The Devonport,'* ten shots at 000 yards; "The King's Championship," ten shots at 900 yards, fired by the twenty highest aggregate in the preceding matches: "Merchants' Shield," five shots at 500 yards (continuous), and the champion team.
