TAURANGA REGATTA.
HELD IN FINE WEATHER. CF.y Telegrapfa.—Own Correspondent.? TAURANGA, Saturday. The Tauranga Regatta was a great success. All the events were keenly contested, and a large number of visitors from out-districts came in as the weather cleared about 10 a.m., and remained fine for the rest of the day. The Matangl (flagship) was moored off the wharf, aud was well patronised. The wind was north-west, and rather light. Following are the results:— YACHT RACING. First-class Yachts.—lorangl led, with Moana and Prize close up. Moana got on a bunk. The first round finish was: lorangl, srr.. _h 2m 20s: Prize, 7m, 3h .1m 17s; Raweue, 4m. 3h 7m 20s. Result: Prize 1, lorangl 2, Raweue .">. Second-class Yachts.—Raugi led the first round, with Queenie close up, and Mania third. Queenie got on a bank, and retired, as also did Janet. The finish was: Rangl, ,*im, :ih 43in 3os; Walrita, 3h 4m; Matua, 3h 4Gm 375, and the result was: Matua 1, Walrita 2, Uangi 3. Third-class Yachts.—Tul 1, Ginger Mick 2, Petrel 3. 14-footers. —No Surrender 1, Charm 2, Sea Love 3. 7-footcrs.—lL 1, Dothee 2, Mistral 3.
