SUPPORT FOR THE BILL.

INTERFERENCE RESENTED. - . (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. At a conference of suppiierc- and committeemen of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, in Hamilton, the following resolution was carried: "That this conference of 52 committeemen, representing 1000 dairy farmers in Hamilton, Ngaruawahia, Taiipiri, Huntly, Whata, whata, Matangi, and Cambridge districts, is strongly in favour of that part of the Dairy Amendment Bill validating past allotments of additional shares being placed on the statute book." This is the third conference during the present week where "a unanimous resolution has been carried. -The total number of committeemen who have attended so far is 150, and the number of suppliers represented is close on 4000. j

The action of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce in opposing the bill was commented on adversely at the conference. It was said that the Chamber of Commerce should not meddle with a matter it knew little about.

A characteristic resolution from Mr. P. Cleary (Rototuna) seemed to' voice the feelings of the conference, and was carried unanimously amidst laughter and applause: "That this conference recommends the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce in particular, and chambers of commerce throughout New Zealand in general, to bring .the influence of that valuable organisation to bear in the direction of securing regular shipping for transport of New Zealand produce) and that they leave dairy farmers to manage the internal operations of their own industry in- their own way." A further resolution was unanimously carried: "That this conference considers the Government' should be requested to introduce compulsory grading of milk and cream at all factories, and appoint its own officer for this purpose."
