At its last meeting the Boroujrh Council, which, had engaged Mr. Ashley Hunter to report on the water supply, rei-eiveii his report. The chief point was the recommendation for erection of another storage dam. The council deferred action in the matter.
In response to representations made hy a deputation from the Itaciiig Club, the council decided to delete from the terms of a new lease of the racecourse domain, a clause which might have led to the prohibition of training on the course. Owing to the changeable weather the growth of garden crops is much retarded. The Horticultural Society, whose show comes oft next month, is getting anxious about its exhibits.
