A very interesting point has arisen at various meetings of dairy company suppliers during the last week or two, namely, the position "of what are known as the "dry" shareholders in the cooperative concerns. In several cases (says the Wairarapa "Age") suppliers have complained about interest being paid on the capital held by persons who are now "dry" shareholders, that is to say, shareholders who are no longer supplying butterfat to the factory. Most of the these shareholders have,"of course, at one time or another been suppliers. Many of them were the original dairy farmers who put up their money to start the factories or to see them through their difficulties in lean years when fresh capital was required." The complaint was made at the Rexdale meeting that the dry shareholders were "doing nothing to earn the profits in which they were participating." The lighting of the tramway safctv zones so far erected has now been completed.
