THE LEAGUE GAME.

CLUB COMPETITIONS.

CITY V. DEVONPORT.

The star attraction in the club competitions of the Auckland Rugby League to-morrow, will be the match between Devonport and City, and as Devonport's chance in the championship will to a great extent depend upon the result of the game, the contest is likely to be one of the best of the season. For some weeks the City club has not been at top strength, but the team for to-morrow is a particularly strong one and Devonport will find that the opposition will try them right out. Athletics should have no difficulty in defeating Newton on No. 2 ground, and other easy victories should be secured by Ponsonby and Marist Brothers, "who meet Ellerslie and Mangerc respectively. In the junior grades there will _be several interesting matches, includingtwo champ-onship finals, both of which should be keenly contested. The second grade championship final between Otahuhu and Richmond will be played on No. 1 ground at Carlaw Park as a curtain raiser to the City-Devonport match. The third grade final, City v. Devonport, will be played on No. 2 ground at Carlaw Park, at 1.45 p.m. The Parnell third grade team plays the Hamilton junior representatives at Hamilton.
