LOCAL BODIES' LOANS.
NEW AUTHORISATIONS-
THE MAIN NORTH ROAD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The consent of the Governor-General to tho raising of the following loans by local bodies has been gazetted:— Auckland City Council.—For liquidation of maturing loan, £10,000. Avondale Borough Council.—For constructing main -highway in concrete, £7500; for laying down in bitumen portions of New North Road, Manukau Road, Station Road, Brown Street and Great North Road, £3500; for-purchase of motor truck and roadmaking plant, £1500; for completing and ' furnishing Town Hall, re-roofing dome and building strongroom, £1200; for street improvements and stormwater drainage in North Ward, £ 18,000; for street improvements in South Ward, £17,000.
Hobson County Council. —For forming and metalling Dargaville-Awakino Valley Road and Awakino Valley-Avoca Road, £12,500. Whangarei County Council. —For formation, construction and metalling of Tangihua Access Road, £1200. Whangamarino Road Board.—For relaying Waerenga Road in bitumen, £19,000. i Raglan County Council. —For the purpose of forming and metalling Waitetuna Valley Road, £2000. Taumarunui County Council.—For formation of Taringamotu Valley Road, £2000. Whakatane County Council.—For erection of workers' dwelling at Taneatua, £350.
