An old ilaori man named Hira Hohua was killed by the accidental discharge of a shotgun while he was examining the weapon at Te Iringa settlement. °The charge penetrated his right breast, and two natives, who entered the whare on hearing a shot, found Hohua lying dead. Deceased was deaf and dumb. "
