SCALDED TO DEATH.

MAORI MAN KILLED. FALLS INTO BOILING OIL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. A mishap attended with fatal consequences, occurred late on Saturday afternoon at Te Awaitc whaling station, Queen Charlotte Sounds. A young Maori named J. ShadrVk, slipped into a boiling-down vat while he was skimming whale oil. The oil was still scalding Lot, though it had been cooling for twenty-four hours. Shadrack was immersed to the armpits. He was conveyed to Pieton Hospital in a fast whaling launch, but expired yesterday' afternoon. He was a married man and leaves three children.
