IMMIGRANTS FROM HOME
TO-MORROW'S NEW ARRIVALS. ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETE. Arrangements for the reception and accommodation of the Auckland immigrants on xioard the Suffolk and Corinthic have been, completed, and when the two liners arrive here to-morrow Mr. H. D. Thomson, Under-Secretary for Immigration, and Mr. V. A. Mills will •go on board to attend to the carrying out of the Government's part of the work. Both steamers have been delayed by the tiesii southerly £ale during the week-end, and the Suffolk now announces by wireless that she will not arrive at Auckland until 2 p.m. to-morrow, 2G hours late. Of her total of 3C4 passengers, 100 are for Auckland, and the I remainder will go South by a special . train that is to leave here at 7.40 p.m. I The Corinthic, which is expected to put in an appearance about 10 o'clock to-morrow morning, has 420 immigrants, and of these 207 will leave here by a special at 8.40 p.m. to-morrow for Wellington and other destinations. Xo time will be lost in placing the new arrivals in the positions that have been obtained for them under the nominated ECheme, and, if present arrangements do not miscarry, only a small proportion of them will spend to-morrow night in the city.
