AUCKLAND SIDE WEAKENED. THE SELECTORS' DILEMMA. The Au.-klan.i team cnosen to play the All Blacks at Eden Park next Wednesday has been weakened by practically the whole threequarter line being withdrawn. Kirwin, of Marist. 'Bros., bas been called away to the West Coast, of the South Island by a family bereavement. Matson, the cent-re, had his jaw fractured In last Saturday's game, too injury not being serious, but of such a nature as to prevent his playing for a week or two. It Is ajso possible that L. McLean, the other wing, may not be able to play on account of injuries received in play this afternoon. The selector, Mr. V.' R. Meredith, stated to a "Star" representative to-day that he will find it difDcnlt to find an adequate threequarter line to replace these men, so as to keep the balance of the team, but he hopes to be able to announce -k_ replacements on Monday.
