PLUNDERED TAXPAYERS.

MR. WILFORD INDICTS GOVERNMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' BLENHEIM, this day. : Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., leader of the Liberal-Labour party, who addressed a meeting of between 400 and 500 people in Blenheim last uight, had a cordial and attentive hearing. He complained of the lack of interest in the party by the Tress of New Zealand, and said the fact that they could not count on much support from the Press necessitated the present platform campaign. Mr. Wilford described Mr. Massey's surplus of £1,800,000 as a plea of "guilty" by the Government to the charge of plundering the taxpayers. The Government, said Mr. Wilford, was guilty both of plundering and blundering. He dwelt on the necessity for extending our trade to the East as the English market was threatened by a huge South American meat combine. A cordial vote of thanks was carried.
