HOBSON STREET BATHS.
LATEST HEATING SCHEME, TO COST OVER £4000. The. announcement that there is still a another scheme on foot for the heating t of the Hobson Street baths was made c let the last meeting of the City Coun- a jcil. It is now proposed to heat the I water, after it has been pumped into the baths by means of steam generated 8 by a boiler to be erected a* the baths. t The estimated cost of the work is over i £4000. . \ The previous scheme, the abandon- I ment of which -was also mentioned at ( the City Council meeting, was never j (put into effect. It provided for the I heating of the water at Hobson Street < Power Station en route to the baths, 1 and would not have entailed any capital s outlay. If it had been adopted it was 1 calculated that the baths . would have been at the usual temperature in four ] days. ' [
