Hen cess are now very scarce, and fho jetall price this week Is 4/ per dozen, but in some establishments even higher figures are asked. Duck eggs arc selling at 2/(( per dozen, chilled eggs 3/ per dozen, and pickled eggs from 2/6 to 2/10 per dozen, bo many warships In port greatly increased ithe demand for fresh hen eggs'. Factory butter is still selling at 1/7. 1/6 and 1/5 per lb retail for the .respective grades. Farmers' make sells at various prices up to V 4 per lb, according to quality. Cheese Is quoted at 1/ to 1/1 per lb, according to maturity. Bacon and hams are in good demand. Whole hams retail sell 1/2 to J/4 per lb, rashers 1/8 to 1/0. Bacon In cuts Is 10d to I/O per lb, and in rashers 1/5 to 1/7.
