SHOULD PARLIAMENT MEET ?
STRONGLY URGED BY LABOUR M.P.'S. I (By Telegraph.—Press Associatlor.) DUNEDIN, this day. Mr. H. E. Holland, who is in Dunedin for the Labour conference, sent the fol«"ring telegram to the Premier, signed ty each of seventeen Labour M.P.'s. "We desire to make the strongest pMiible representations in favour of Pvliament being called together immedjttely to deal with' the critical situation which has arisen in the railway wrvice. The proposal to extend the lours of labour in the railway service is °f Dominion-wide import, inasmuch as it must eventually adversely affect not °»ly railway workers, but also a large "wnber of other industries working a 44-hour waek. Further, the fact that "■any railwajjmen cannot maintain their '*ives and children on present salaries « an evil which Parliament should have »n opportunity of redressing."
