BREECHES ARE FASHIONABLE,
The ekirt is altogether absent from the up-to-date sports suit. Those con-servative-minded folks -who insist on its appearance can, however, be accommodated with a brief tunic-like affair, which buttons down one side and ■ can be removed when the wearer lias grown accustomed to the sight of breeches, worn by the majority of those who go ski-ing in Europe. Just to set at rest possible fears, it should be mentioned that there are plenty of different styles. Oue may choose breeches and a short blousejumper that buttons high round the throat, or vary the latter by wearing a double-breasted coat that comes halfway to the knee. Some coats are caught round the hips with the fashionable band, others are cut on jumper lines with buttons at each side, or. again, one may indulge in a toilette that is suggestive of a cowboy outfit. Breeches can be replaced by long trousers tucked into the tops of thick stockings, and one might vary the list indefinitely. Collars, should be high to the front, or alternatively the sweater worn beneath the coat should have a high neckband to keep out the cold.
