• i RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT. WIDOW AWARDED £750. A successful claim for compensation was made by Agnes Annie Wilson, of Onehunga (Mr. Holmden), against the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand, Lirgited (Mr. Bagnall), in the Arbitration Court this morning. The facts generally were admitted. The deceased, Robert Cowie Wilson, was a seaman serving on the s.s. Kauri. While at Newcastle he slipped and fell against a hatch and sustained injuries to his chest, from which he subsequently died in the Auckland Hospital on July 29 last. Deceased had a master's certificate. Plaintiff 6tated that she was solely dependent on her husband when he met with the accident. After formal evidence had 'been given the Court awarded full compensation £750 ( £50 of which had already been paid), funeral and medical expenses £50, costs £7 7/, and witnesses' cxl penses.
