TROUBLE IN GREECE.
FRUSTRATION OF PLOT. ATHENS, December 10. Two persons were killed and 20 injured in turbulent demonstrations following a mass meeting of Royalista. It is officially announced that the discovery of a fresh Royalist revolutionary plot has resulted in many arrests, including retired officers. The authorities for some days have suspected that a new plot to overthrow the Government was being hatched, and noticed that agents of Colonel Metaxas, the Koyaliet leader, -were active in military circles. The conspirators hoped to win over the Athens garrison, contrive to overthrow the present regime, create internal troubles, and bring about foreign intervention. They werfc provided with ample funds, which they used for propaganda. The movement seems to have been nipped in the bud. It is stated that compromising documents and large sums were found in the possession of those arrested. A searching inquiry is proceeding.— (Reuter.)
