COROMANDEL QUARRY DISPUTE.
MACHINERY REMOVES.
PLAINTIFF GETS JUDGMENT. Hearing in the action in which R. R. Hunt" (Mr. Macky), claimed £167 10.', or the return of certain machinery and chattels which it was alleged had been wrongfully removed from Paritu quarry, Coromandel Peninsula. vm continued yesterday afternoon, before Mr. F. K." Hunt, 6-M.
The allegation was that the goods had been removed by Frank Harris, ai. employee of the defendant, Frank Goodacre. For the defence it was contended that Goodacre was not liable for the actions of Harris.
■Hia Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for £fU 10/, failing; the return of the machinery, etc. Special damage* for 15 in respect of a punt which Harris had used and returned in a defective condition were awarded, and general damages were fixed at £10.
In another action in which James Halyday (Mr. Maoky). claimed €29 16/ from Frank Goodacre (Mr. Prendergast) for building materials removed from plaintiff's property at Coromandel, judement was given for olaintiff for £24 16/, and £2 special damages were allowed.
