WHANGAREI LOAN POLL.
COHCKETE STREET REJECTED. OTHER PROPOSALS CARRIED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, Thursday. The following Whangarei Borough loan proposals were endorsed at a poll yesterday:— Eastern reading (special area) £2200, water main reticulation £8200, draiuage and sewer connections £2200, road construction and metalling £5200, ' electric reticulation extension £6500. An adverse vote was cast on the ,p"O----iposal to concrete Cameron Street, one Jof the main business thoroughfares at a cost of £6450. The proportion ot .voting was very meagre, but there was a decisive majority in each instance. Details of the voting are as follow:— Waterworks' extension, £8200 —for, 237; against. 73; jscwerage sen-ices, £2200—for. 240; against, 72; streets improvement, Manse Street to Powhiri i Avenue and Parua Bay Road, £5200 — for, 205; against, 108; electricity extension, £6500—for, 226; against, 86; concreting Cameron Street, £6450 —for, ,121; against 193; special rating area, Riverside streets improvement, £2200— for, 18; against, 11.
