An imposing deputation of women, piloted by a number of members of Parliament, flooded the office of the Minister of Justice demanding the wiping out of wine bars, which they charged with the responsibility of degrading many women and girls and other evils. The Minister, in a sympathetic anu cautious reply, said a bill was now before Parliament which would give the people a chance to secure a remedy on a bare majority vote.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
