THE FLOWER GARDEN. Another planting of Gladioli may be made now. Manure and top-dress Rose beds if not already done. Plant Lilium Auratum and Sulphurium. Plant out bedding plants of all descriptions, including Antirrhinum*, Iceland Poppies, Verbenas, Lobelias, Larkspur, Petunias, and Salpiglossis. Sow seeds of Antirrhinums, Salvias, Asters, French and African Marigolds, Zinnias, Cosmea. Lift and divide old clumps of Chrysanthemums. Divide Dahlia roots. One shoot will make a big enough plant to keep staked. Clean Border Carnations. A spraying with lime sulphur will be good if any pests appear. THE VEGETABLE GARDEN. Pinch out the tops of Broad Beans. Plant Potatoes on any available ground. Spray, hoe and earth up Potatoes. Plant Cabbage, Cauliflowers, Lettuce, Onioni. Sow Carrot, Parsnip, Beet, Peas. Sow Dwarf and Runner Beans. Sow Vegetable Marrows, Pumpkins, Water Melons. Plant Tomatoes in sheltered positions. Sow Brussels Sprouts, Leeks, Broccoli, and Silver Beet. Plant Cape Gooseberries.
