A proposal to merge the canteen fimj in other war funds was strenuoehopposed at last night's meeting of tag Returned Soldiers' Association. Colonel McDonald explained that tier had a great struggle to prevent thfe sacred trust from .being used for oti«r purposes than those for which ft Tjy intended, amelioration of the position o[ soldiers wounded in tne vas. It was unanimously resolved: "Hj. meeting is of opinion that the cmUq fund should not be used for anr otter purpose than that for which "it' wj« raised, and that it should not 'be banded over to any other iboard."
